The orange valley & mountain tops (Meskla)

A magnificent trip that combines the majesty of the White mountain tops along with the scent and natural beauty of the “Orange Valley”.

We travel east through Platanias & Ag. Marina heading for upper Stalos with breathtaking views of the Aegean sea and the valley of the “oranges”, as we start our descending through little winding roads finally reaching the small village of Furnes where we are having our first stop at the local church with its magnificent twin bell towers.On our final approach through the picturesque country side and the exciting small ravines at the foot of the White Mountains, we finally reach Meskla village laying by the source of Keritis river. Enjoying the shade,fully provided to us by the old maple trees we wonder into two magnificent Byzantine churches built in the 14th century, full of frescoes andold icons.

Our 3 hour return trip back to the coast is done through Patelari, Kirtomados and back to Platanias.
