The western adventure
Let us take you to a fantastic intoxicated tour with our little train, and discover what the real Crete is made off.
We start our trip from Platanias at about 17:30 travelling west along the coast enjoying the magnificent colour and the aura of the Aegean sea,passing through the historic village of Maleme. We continue west alongside Tavronitis river and Rapaniana until we reach the colourfull traditional fishing village of Kolimbari. Then we continue South when we finally reach the tiny village of Marathokefala with it’s magnificent St.John’s cave. We have a 15’ minute stop there to admire the breathtaking views of the valley and the Aegean and also to see the unique St.John’s church inside the cave which is surrounded by stalagmites & stalagtites.
Our final stop at the (20’minutes) the colourful village of Spilia completes our adventure where at the local kafenio we experience how the unique Cretan fire water (raki) is made Total tour time 3 hours.
